LU William Fosters has already hit the headlines with the announcement of a pitch named in honour of Ella Toone, the Lioness and Manchester United attacking midfielder. The first registered players will walk onto the pitches – including The Ella Toone pitch – and play for FREE at LU William Fosters on Saturday 19th August and Sunday 20th August. We’re offering FREE football that weekend at LU William Fosters, then it’s half price football school holiday fun for pre-registered players, until Sunday 3rd September.
Both Wigan Leisure United sites are the result of a multi-million-pound investment from the Premier League, The FA, the Government’s Football Foundation and Wigan Council. They boast FIFA approved 4G pitches, group changing pavilions including coaching and club rooms, stylish community cafes, social spaces and free parking. We can’t wait to welcome locals in to train, play, socialise and develop, in these brand-new football facilities.
Varied programmes have been developed with community partners Wigan Athletic Community Trust and Lancashire FA with maximum appeal in mind. From toddlers taking their first steps into the game, right through to Walking Football for those who’re looking to take the game at their own pace. There will be coaching and training activities for all abilities and age groups, school holiday camps, development opportunities, kids football birthday parties and corporate tournaments are also in the pipeline.
