Mark Coulson, is the new CEO of Leisure United

We are proud to announce the appointment of Mark Coulson, a highly experienced and respected senior leader in the sector, as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a significant step forward in our commitment to delivering excellence in grassroots football facilities and services across the nation. 

Mark, who brings with him an extensive track record of leadership and innovation in the sector, will spearhead our next phase of growth. From January 2025, he will advance our mission to develop a national network of high-quality multi-sport facilities, that transform grassroots football and provide a range of physical activity and health and wellbeing opportunities for local communities. 

Speaking about the appointment, Chairman David Gallagher commented, “We are delighted to welcome Mark as our new CEO. His vast experience, passion for football, and proven leadership in transforming the sector align perfectly with our vision. Under Mark’s guidance, we are confident that Leisure United will continue to grow and succeed.” 

Mark Coulson, added, “It’s a real privilege to be given the responsibility to lead Leisure United. Developing high-quality sustainable facilities across England is the number one priority for the grassroots game, and after 15 years at The FA and the Football Foundation, it’s a challenge I care passionately about. I’m confident that Leisure United is uniquely positioned to play a transformative role in this space. Together, with our dedicated team and the support of our national partners and Trustees, we can make a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. I can’t wait to get started.”
